Estelle Johnson came to the Spirit via a trade prior to the 2015 season. A stalwart of the Spirit back line, she played in all but one game (19 starts) for the Spirit in 2015. In 2016, the centerback started and played in eleven matches.
The Flash selected Johnson No. 7 overall in the 2013 NWSL Supplemental Draft. Previously, Johnson played in both WPSL Elite, with the NY Fury, and WPS, with the Philadelphia Independence and LA Sol. Johnson attended the University of Kansas from 2006-2009.
