Drafted by the Spirit 19th overall (2nd pick, 3rd round) in the inaugural NWSL College Draft, the midfielder / defender grew up in the DC region and played for coach Jorden last summer as a member of the Eastern Conference Champion D.C. United Women’s.

Initially not expected to be available until May, King re-arranged her final semester of studies at Florida in order to commit to full attendance with the Spirit sooner, and was signed after her first full week with the team.
