Segra Field is a brand new soccer-specific stadium located in Leesburg, Virginia within Phillip A. Bolen Park and alongside Loudoun Soccer Park.
With a capacity of 5,000 seats, eight suites and two premium seating sections, Segra Field is a state of the art stadium. The Loudoun County venue provides an intimate atmosphere for fans with its dedicated supporter section located on the South end of the stadium behind the net.
Built to be the home of D.C. United affiliate Loudoun United FC, construction began on the stadium in March of 2019, and the venue was officially opened on August 9, when United FC played the stadium’s inaugural match against the Charlotte Independence.
The Spirit will be making history as they will debut as the first-ever professional women’s soccer team to play at the ground.
Segra Field will be an important part of the Spirit’s future as the club currently plans to move all technical, support and training staff to the new location by 2021. D.C. United aims to bring a world-class training facility to the Loudoun venue to supplement both the Spirit and United FC.
Additionally, the Spirit will be offering fans round trip transportation from Germantown to Segra Field for matches in 2020, as well as a program to cover the cost of tolls for fans traveling from outside Loudoun County.
Spirit Head Coach Richie Burke had this to say about playing four games at the venue next season: “Adding Segra Field into the mix will allow us to give our Virginia supporters a local venue to get behind, and I believe we will get great crowds at that venue as well.”
