Boyds, MD (November 10, 2017) – Washington Spirit goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé and defender Shelina Zadorsky each started and played the full 90 minutes for the Canada Women’s National Team in a 1-1 draw against the United States in front of a sellout crowd of 28,017 fans at BC Place in Vancouver. Labbé made what proved to be a pivotal save in the 39th minute, deflecting a free kick attempt from Lindsey Horan which had been heading just under the crossbar. Zadorksy helped anchor a Canada back line with multiple key clearances and tackles in the defensive third, preventing several USA scoring opportunities.

Labbé earned her 45th career international cap in the friendly, while Zadorsky notched her 32nd.

The teams will face off again for the second leg of the series on Sunday, November 12 at Avaya Stadium in in San Jose, California. The game will be nationally televised on FOX Sports 1 starting at 9 p.m. ET.
