Continue reading for a look at some of the most notable statistics through the Spirit’s first 11 games of the 2017 NWSL regular season.

1: Goal allowed in the run of play by the Spirit in the team’s past four games combined

Prior to a 73rd minute strike by Boston’s Margaret “Midge” Purce in a 1-0 decision on Saturday, Washington had recorded 372 straight minutes without allowing a run of play goal.

4: Spirit players who have yet to come off the field this season

Defenders Whitney ChurchEstelle Johnson and Shelina Zadorsky, and goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé have each played the maximum possible 990 minutes through the team’s first 11 regular games.

5: NWSL players with more goals this season than Francisca Ordega

The Nigeria Women’s National Team forward leads the Spirit with four goals along with a team-high two assists. Washington is unbeaten with a 2-0-1 record in games when Ordega has found the net.

7: Goals scored or assisted by offseason acquisitions Havana Solaun and Kristie Mewis

Solaun and Mewis joined the Spirit ahead of the 2017 season from Seattle Reign FC and the Boston Breakers respectively, and have both made major impacts as they approach the halfway point of their first season with Washington. Solaun has scored three goals of her own and assisted Cheyna Wililams‘ 3rd minute strike in a 2-0 win over the Houston Dash on June 3. Mewis has netted two goals and provided the assist on 19-year-old Mallory Pugh‘s historic first NWSL goal, also in the June 3 win over Houston.

8: Games this season in which the Spirit has limited opponents to one goal or less

Washington has two clean sheets and six games with just one goal allowed through 11 regular season games. The team has given up more than one goal in a game only three times.
