Boyds, MD – Saturday May 6, 2017: Meggie Dougherty Howard during a regular season National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match between the Washington Spirit and Sky Blue FC at Maureen Hendricks Field, Maryland SoccerPlex.

Boyds, MD (July 19, 2017) – The Washington Spirit will visit Portland Thorns FC on Saturday, July 22 in the teams’ second of three match-ups during the 2017 NWSL regular season. It will be the first of two visits to Providence Park this season for the Spirit, who won the first match-up with a 1-0 clean sheet effort at the Maryland SoccerPlex on June 24. The live stream will be available on the go90 mobile app and website, starting at 10:00 p.m. ET.

This weekend’s trip to Portland will be the second of four consecutive road games for Washington. The Spirit will play next at home on August 12 against the Boston Breakers. [TICKETS]

Labbé’s per-game save average is tied for the highest mark in the NWSL, and her 58 total saves are tied for second in the league.

46 – Interceptions by defender Estelle Johnson

A two-time NWSL Team of the Month selection by the media, Johnson leads the Spirit in interceptions, averaging over 3.5 per game while playing every minute of regular season competition.

5 – Goals scored or assisted by Havana Solaun

Solaun has three goals and two assists midway through her first season with the team, and is second on the Spirit behind only Francisca Ordega in both categories. Solaun notched her second assist on July 15 against the Houston Dash, setting up Johnson’s 76th minute score.

272 – Passes on the attacking half of the field for Meggie Dougherty Howard

Midway through her rookie season out of the University of Florirda, Dougherty Howard leads the team in passes on the opponent’s half. Her 83.3% passing accuracy led the Spirit last weekend in Houston.

9.3% – Washington’s shot conversion rate on the road

The percentage is the third-best in the league.  Washington has scored 7 goals on 75 shots while playing away from home.
