Boyds, MD (May 1, 2018) –  Washington Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe has been voted as the NWSL Save of the Week winner for Week 5 of the 2018 National Women’s Soccer League season.

It marks her second consecutive NWSL Save of the Week award, after she also took Week 4 honors for her game-saving stop on a penalty kick taken by Portland Thorns midfielder Lindsey Horan in the 87th minute of Washington’s 1-1 road draw on April 20.

Bledsoe’s Week 5 NWSL Save of the Week award came in recognition of her diving, one-handed stop on a close range header attempt by Chicago Red Stars defender Samantha Johnson in the 41st minute of the Spirit’s 1-1 draw on Saturday night at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
