The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) unveiled today the 2017 broadcast schedule on Lifetime including a milestone package of 22 regular-season matches, both playoff semifinal games and the NWSL Championship game. The Washington Spirit wil be featured three times in the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime this season.

U.S. Soccer has announced forward Arielle Ship as a member of the 22-player roster for the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team trip to La Manga, Spain from February 25 to March 7. The team will play three matches against their U-23 counterparts from Japan (March 2), England (March 4), and Norway (March 7).
Shelina Zadorsky, Stephanie Labbé, and Lindsay Agnew Named to Canadian Algarve Cup Roster
The Canada Soccer Association announced Washington Spirit players Shelina Zadorsky, Stephanie Labbé, and 2017 draftee Lindsay Agnew as part of the 22 player roster for the Algarve Cup which will take place in Portugal from March 1-8.
Arielle Ship did not have the usual path to finding her rookie team. After Seattle Reign FC selected her with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft, she was traded to the Spirit just 11 days later. Her plans may have taken a detour to the other Washington, but now the former Cal Berkeley star is focused on where she can fit in with last year’s NWSL Championship finalists.
Cameron Castleberry spent the first 21 years of her life living and playing soccer in her home state of North Carolina. In March, she’ll be embarking on a new adventure in the Washington D.C. area to pursue her dream of playing professional soccer.

Washington Spirit, Baltimore Armour Join Forces for U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy
The Washington Spirit has added Baltimore Armour as a U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy partner for the state of Maryland, which will now be called “Washington Spirit Baltimore Armour.” This partnership adds to the relationship already in place with Montgomery Soccer Incorporated (MSI), creating a direct “path to the pros” for over 11,000 female players in one of the nation’s top soccer player development markets.
