Washington, D.C. (02/03/22) – Six Washington Spirit players have been called up by the USWNT to compete in the SheBelieves Cup.  Veteran USWNT members Kelley O’Hara and Emily Sonnett receive the call along with teammates Andi Sullivan, Ashley Hatch, Ashley Sanchez, and Aubrey Kingsbury.

Kingsbury will be looking for her first appearance with the USWNT after a number of call ups and another strong NWSL season. All six of the call ups participated in the two week long training camp in late January.

U.S. Soccer hosts its seventh annual SheBelieves Cup in two locations from February 17-23, and welcomes New Zealand, Czech Republic, and Iceland. The tournament will be broken into two doubleheaders. The 2022 SheBelieves Cup kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. as Iceland takes on New Zealand (8 p.m. ET) and the USA faces the Czech Republic (11 p.m. ET on ESPN and in Spanish on TUDN). The tournament resumes on Sunday, Feb. 20, also at DHSP, with the USA playing the first match of the day, against New Zealand (3 ET on ABC and in Spanish on PrendeTV), while the Czech Republic will face Iceland (6 p.m. ET) in the second match of the day. The tournament concludes on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, with New Zealand taking on the Czech Republic (6 p.m. ET) and the USA facing Iceland in the nightcap (9 p.m. ET on ESPN and in Spanish on PrendeTV).

This tournament will mark the first game action for the USWNT in a little under three months. In its most recent game, the USWNT drew, 1-1, with Australia in a game that saw Hatch score in the fourth minute. The USWNT is looking for its fifth SheBelieves Cup crown, winning four of the first six renditions including back-to-back victories in 2020 and 2021.
