Leesburg, VA (09/07/21) – Sweden Women’s National Team Head Coach Peter Gerhardsson has named Spirit midfielder Julia Roddar to the roster for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Slovakia and Georgia. 

Coming off a silver medal at the Olympics, Sweden will begin their quest for the 2023 World Cup against Slovakia on September 17 in Senec, Slovakia at 11:30 a.m. ET. They will then take on Georgia in Gothenburg, Sweden on September 21 at 12:30 p.m. ET. 

Roddar has 11 caps for the senior national team. Most recently, she appeared in two matches during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She joined the national team at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and has been on several team sheets for recent European qualification games. She also appeared at the U-19 and U-17 levels, where she featured in 30 matches and recorded five goals.
