Leesburg, VA., (07/08/2021) — The Washington Spirit are set to play their ninth match of the 2021 regular season against the North Carolina Courage on Saturday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Audi Field. The game will be streamed on Paramount + in the United States and Twitch for international fans.

Here are some interesting stats to take note of ahead of Saturday’s meeting:

1-Points at Home for the Spirit this Season

Saturday’s match will be Washington’s third home game of the season and their second contest played at Audi Field. The Spirit opened up the 2021 campaign with four straight away games, returning to Audi Field for a 1-1 draw with the Orlando Pride on June 6. After travelling to the midwest for two consecutive games, Washington returned home to Segra Field for a face-off against the Chicago Red Stars that resulted in a 0-1 loss from an own goal. With only nine home matches remaining to the regular season, the Spirit are looking to pick up all three points against the Courage this weekend.

2-Assists for Midfielder Tori Huster

Huster’s dominant play in the center of the pitch has resulted in two assists for Washington. She helped the Spirit draw their first match of the regular season by slotting a through ball to attacker Ashley Hatch against Orlando. The midfielder continued to show her success by assisting Trinity Rodman in extra time to help top Kansas City at Legends Field. Huster currently sits tied with North Carolina’s Debinha and Houston’s Shea Groom for the league’s third-most number of assists.

4-Straight Wins for the North Carolina Courage

Following a 2-0 shutout against Orlando, the 2019 NWSL Champions extended their win streak to four which put them at the top of the table. The Courage climbed to first place after a somewhat slow start that saw them draw against OL Reign and fall to Orlando. With North Carolina having earned seven points on the road, the Spirit will need to hold strong in front of their home crowd.

20-Total Number of Saves for Aubrey Bledsoe

The 2019 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year continues to be a powerhouse in net for Washington. This season, Bledsoe holds a 71.4% success rate with 20 saves on 28 shots on goal this season. It also speaks to the backline in front of Bledsoe who is making life easier for the goalkeeper by limiting chances on net.
