Boyds, MD., (02/05/21) After a successful first year in 2020, the Washington Spirit have announced the extension of the Alliance Partnership Program, a program that aims to better the youth soccer community in the Washington, D.C. area.

The Partnership Program will generate more opportunities at the club and youth player level by connecting local youth programs with the professional coaches and players at the Washington Spirit. Through this program, partner members are able to interact with the players and coaches of the Spirit by attending question and answer sessions and coaching series with our technical staff, and many other exclusive opportunities and events.

In addition to youth clubs, the program has expanded to serve local college programs as well. After a successful first year, the club is proud to have 25 clubs, two associations, one league, and six colleges signed on for the second year, with more expected to be signed.

Spirit CEO and Director of Sporting Operations Larry Best had this to say on the program: “Creating a strong presence in our community is paramount to driving the game and sport to new heights.  Our partnership program allows us to grow the game holistically with collaborative efforts and engagement with program directors who are vital to the growth and development of the game and sport at all age levels.”
