Boyds, Md., (3/4/20) – Washington Spirit midfielders Rose Lavelle and Andi Sullivan will represent the Washington Spirit for the United States Women’s National Team as the 2020 SheBelieves Cup kicks off tomorrow night. The SheBelieves Cup is back for its fifth year as the USWNT will host Spain, Japan and England in a four-team tournament running from March 5 to March 11.

The USWNT’s last performance was a strong one as they blew through the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers and qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The qualifying run was punctuated with a 3-0 victory over Canada in the finals. The SheBelieves Cup will be the final non-friendly matches played prior to the Tokyo Olympics.

Lavelle has gotten off to a strong start for the USWNT in 2020, a continuation of a massive 2019 that saw her cement her place in the Starting XI. In four games played at CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers, the midfielder recorded four starts and two goals, including the game-winner in the semi-finals against Mexico.

Sullivan has made her second tournament roster of 2020 and is looking to break into head coach Vlatko Andonovski’s 20-player Olympic roster. The midfielder picked up one start in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers and played all 90 minutes..

The USWNT will kick off their She Believes Cup play against defending champions England in Orlando, FL. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The USWNT takes on She Believes debutants Spain in the second game of the tournament. Kickoff in Harrison, NJ is set for 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Finally, the tournament will wrap up when the USWNT take on Japan in Frisco, TX. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNEWS at 8 p.m. ET.
