Boyds, MD., (2/11/20) – The Washington Spirit have hired Craig Hoffman as Executive Producer of “Spirit Media”, a new branch of the Spirit that will aim to create and produce never-before-seen content to immerse Spirit fans throughout the season.

Hoffman will oversee the production process with Spirit Media, including staging, filming and editing unique features and stories that take fans behind the scenes with their favorite players. Content produced by Spirit Media will be distributed across the Spirit’s social platforms. Fans will get to watch new player profiles, see Spirit players in the community, go behind the scenes of training and matches and even get to know Spirit players’ pets.

Spirit Majority Owner Steve Baldwin said this on the formation of Spirit Media: “We have two objectives with Spirit Media. First — because of the accessibility of our players — we have the opportunity to bring our fans into our players’ worlds in a new and interesting way. Second, we want to develop and maximize our players’ personal brands and elevate their statuses in our community. The Washington DC area has an affinity for special people who excel professionally and want to invest in the community, and our club is filled the best of the best.”

“Ultimately my job is to bring our fans into all aspects of our club,” Hoffman said. “That means I need to know what fans want to see, so I’d invite any member of the #SpiritFam to email me at choffman@washspirit.com. I’m excited to get started and flex the creative muscles I’ve been burning to exercise. Most importantly, I’m ready to show everyone else what I already know: this is an amazing collection of people on and off the field.”

Hoffman was a leading voice in the DC market during his time covering the Washington Redskins at 106.7 The Fan. Hoffman spent four years at the station, with his final three as the station’s beat reporter. In that role, Hoffman broke stories, conducted groundbreaking interviews and was a key part of the station’s Redskins coverage. Prior to moving to DC, Craig worked for ESPN Radio in Dallas, TX. He’s a 2012 graduate of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.

Baldwin had this to say on adding Hoffman to the team: “After admiring Craig’s work from afar, I had the chance to be interviewed by Craig after the World Cup. Since then, Craig operated the video production of our second Audi Field game last season and, most recently, launched our Catch the Spirit podcast.” Baldwin continued, “[Craig] has an incredible passion for our game combined with the creativity that will bring our fans closer to our club.”
