Boyds, Md., (1/22/20) – The Washington Spirit and The Global Local are proud to announce a new sponsorship deal that will run through the 2020 NWSL season. As part of the sponsorship, The Global Local will have a presence at the Spirit’s four games at Segra Field.
A women-owned company, The Global Local was officially founded in 2018 with the purpose of showcasing Loudoun County craftsmen in addition to an array of globally sourced products. From locally produced goods and textiles to artfully crafted home decor, The Global Local promises that there’s always something new to discover, taste, and take home.
“We are thrilled to have another Northern Virginia-based company join the Spirit Family,” said Spirit Chief Marketing Officer Gretchen Hamm. “The Global Local shares our commitment to the community. We are happy to have the company on board as we grow our presence in Loudoun County.”
The Global Local founder Tyra Flynn had this to say on the new partnership: “We are so excited to announce our official sponsorship of the Washington Spirit. This partnership is the perfect fusion of our love for local interests, empowering young women, and community building.”
Flynn continued: “We have pledged to donate 10% of our profit from the Segra events to local non-profit soccer organizations in our area. Our hope is to encourage young girls and women to aspire to greatness, and who knows, possibly become a professional player on the Spirit in the future.”
