Boyds, Md., (12/2/19) – Washington Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe and defender Sam Staab continued their fantastic play during matchweek four of the Australian W-League this weekend, with both earning wins to continue their perfect starts to the season.

Bledsoe put in another impressive performance in net for the Sky Blues in their 3-1 victory over the Perth Glory last Sunday, making four saves. Bledsoe finally conceded her first goal of the 2019-20 W-League season after back-to-back shutouts to open the year.

Sydney FC have earned nine points from their three games thus far this season, sitting at the top of the W-League table thanks to an impressive goal difference of plus six. The match was a rematch of last year’s Westfield W-League Grand Final that saw Sydney and Bledsoe run out 4-2 winners.

Staab has been crucial to a reinvented Western Sydney side that has impressed early this season. Staab picked up back-to-back Team of the Week nods in matchweeks one and two, and also put in an important shift in the Wanderers 3-1 win over the Roar last Thursday. Staab made a team-leading 70 touches to go along with her two interceptions and eight clearances.

The Western Sydney Wanderers have also earned max points from their first three fixtures, sitting second on the table with nine points, behind Sydney FC with a goal difference of plus four.

Western Sydney and Sydney FC will both be back in action for matchweek four as the Wanderers take on the Melbourne Victory on December 7 at 12 am ET and the Sky Blues take on Melbourne City on December 8 at 12 am ET.
