Boyds, Md., (11/6/19) – Washington Spirit players Aubrey Bledsoe, Mallory Pugh, Rose Lavelle and Andi Sullivan have joined the United States Women’s National Team for two November friendlies against Sweden on November 7 and Costa Rica November 10.

The four Spirit representatives were all part of new manager Vlatko Andonovski’s first-ever USWNT camp.

After winning NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2019, Bledsoe received her first call up for the USWNT. In 24 games played this season, Bledsoe finished tied for first in saves (86) and second in the league in clean sheets (9).

Pugh has appeared in 17 games for the USWNT in 2019. Most recently, the forward came into the game for Megan Rapinoe against Korea on October 6. Six of Pugh’s 18 career goals for the US have come in 2019.

In 2019, Lavelle has played 16 games for the USWNT, including six in the World Cup. The young midfielder scored four goals this year but none bigger than her 69th-minute goal in the World Cup Final against the Netherlands. Lavelle also scored the first goal of her Washington Spirit career in the home finale against North Carolina this season.

Sullivan has been called up to her second straight camp after an impressive 2019 NWSL season that saw her play in all but one game for the Spirit. The midfielder has made 13 appearances for the US in her career, most recently in a 1-1 draw against Korea on October 6.

Kickoff against Sweden is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The second match against Costa Rica is set for 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.
