Boyds, Md., (9/12/19) The Washington Spirit are returning to Audi Field on Saturday, Sept. 14 as they take on fifth-ranked Reign FC. Spirit Nation proved to be a factor in the last game at Audi Field as they gave the team an extra boost of energy with their support.

“Thank you so much from the bottom of our heart, you’re our 12th man,” Head Coach Richie Burke said after the game. 

In anticipation of another monumental night, Audi Field will have plenty of giveaways for Spirit Nation and all in attendance. Here are a few numbers to keep in mind before the Sept. 14 game: 

19,871 – Number of fans who packed Audi Field last game

Spirit fans packed the house on Aug. 24 as Washington beat Orlando 2-1. The crowd more than doubled the previous attendance record of 7,976 that was set during the Spirit’s first-ever match at Audi field on Aug. 25, 2018. 

10 – The crowd of 19,871 at Audi Field is the 10th highest individual game attendance in NWSL History

Excluding the Thorns, the Spirit have the second-highest single-game attendance record.

$100,000 – The amount of money you could win

InRide is sponsoring a halftime shooting competition where fans will have a chance to win $100,000 by scoring a goal. 

15,000 – Number of rally towels being passed out at the Sept. 14 game at Audi Field

The first 15,0000 fans through the gates will receive Spirit-branded rally towels with a DC-theme.

7,500 – Number of thundersticks given out to fans

The first 7,500 fans will be given thundersticks to make some noise for the Spirit.

5,000 – Number of GEICO reusable water bottles passed out

The bottles will be passed out at the end of the game, so stick around at Audi Field for your chance to get one courtesy of GEICO.
