Boyds, Md., (9/4/19) – Washington Spirit and U.S Women’s National Team midfielder Rose Lavelle was named to the 2019 FIFPRO Women’s World 11 shortlist. 

FIFPRO, the worldwide organization for all professional footballers, released the list of the 55 players who received the most votes for the 2019 FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11. The Women’s World 11 is a lineup of players voted on by 3,500 elite players worldwide, based on their performance from the prior season. 

The team consists of 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 forwards who receive the most votes.

Fourteen players from the USWNT were voted onto the shortlist after their 2019 World Cup victory. 

FIFA and FIFPRO will collectively reveal the final Women’s World 11 roster on Monday, September 23rd during the Best Football Awards in Milan’s Scala theatre. This year will mark the first time that the Women’s World 11 will be presented on the same stage as the Men’s World 11 since the women’s voting began in 2015.
