Boyds, MD (6/30/19)- The Washington Spirit Reserves squad defeated LMVSC 9-0 Sunday afternoon in their fourth game of the CCL Pro23 season.

The victory extends the reserves’ winning streak to four games and gives the squad a total of 12 points in the CCL standings. With a perfect record thus far, the Spirit Reserves remain in first place with one game left to play in the regular season.

The Spirit Reserves got off to a strong start, scoring four goals within the first fifteen minutes. The team kept the goals coming throughout the remainder of the match, with six different players earning a spot on the scoresheet. Spirit players Paula Germino-Watnick, Meaghan Nally and Jasmine Hamid all scored a brace while forward Donish Henry recorded three assists.

While this was the team’s fourth straight win, it was also their fourth straight shutout in as many games. The impressive streak includes a combined goal differential of 16-0.

Looking back on the reserves’ first four games, Hamid says, “I feel like our season is going really well. We’re beating teams, and we’re playing really well as a team which is most important.”

The Spirit Reserves will look to finish off the regular season with a perfect record next Sunday, July 7, at 2:00 p.m. against SYA at Stone Ridge High School in Bethesda, MD.
