Boyds, MD. – Saturday, June 23 2018: The Orlando Pride defeated the Washington Spirit 1-0 in a NWSL match at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

Boyds, Md., (6/26/19) – The Washington Spirit is excited to announce that the club has hired new sales executives to join the Spirit Front Office. KJ Spisak has been named Director of Corporate Sales, and Nick Caparell has been named Vice President of Sales. 

Caparell joins the Spirit most recently from his time as Assistant Sales Manager with Life Time Athletic, located in Gaithersburg, MD. As a member of the inaugural sales team, he was responsible for both membership sales and retention, while also securing various corporate partnerships for the company. 

Caparell also owned and operated the Rockville Martial Arts and Learning studio for over 20 years, where he gained his vast knowledge of both sales and marketing techniques. 

Caparell commented on his position with the Spirit, saying: “I feel very blessed for this wonderful opportunity and the chance to work with a world-class organization. I am looking forward to making an immediate impact.”

Caparell currently resides in North Potomac with his wife Jeeyoung and five-year-old son, Nicholas.

During her playing days, Spisak was a star goalkeeper in college at Texas A&M. Spisak played from 2002-2005 and is the program’s all-time leader in wins (69), minutes played (8,559) and saves (291). She was inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame last fall. Spisak was also a member of the U-21 WNT team that won the Nordic Cup. 

Spisak went on to have a successful professional playing career, spending time with the Washington Freedom, Boston Breakers, and St. Louis Athletica of the Women’s Professional Soccer League. In the NWSL, KJ was rostered for two seasons with the Washington Spirit.  She has served as a member of the Spirit coaching staff since 2014. Spisak currently serves as a scout for the first team and head coach of the Spirit Reserves team.

Spisak had this to say on joining the Spirit Front Office: “I am honored to continue on with the Spirit in this new position and am excited to become an official part of the front office staff. After dedicating the last few years to the Pros and Reserves on the field, I’m looking forward to being an integral part of the growth of this fantastic Club.”

The Spirit is steadfast in it’s commitment to improving the fan experience, securing more sponsors and continuing to raise the profile of the club. These hires demonstrate that commitment.
