Boyds, Md., (6/18/19) – On the final matchday of Group C at the Women’s World Cup, Spirit midfielder Chloe Logarzo forward Cheyna Matthews became opponents as Australia faced Jamaica at Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, France. The two exchanged smiles during the pregame handshakes before the Matildas went on to top the Reggae Girlz, 4-1.

As she has for every World Cup game so far, Logarzo earned a starting spot in the Matildas’ midfield. After playing primarily on the left wing in the first two games, she adopted a more central role for the group stage finale. She played all 90 minutes as Australia cruised to its best offensive performance of the tournament so far.

Matthews featured in Jamaica’s starting lineup for the second time in the tournament, playing as a forward alongside Tiffany Cameron and Mireya Grey. She placed a shot on goal in the 51st minute, two minutes after the Reggae Girlz scored their historic first-ever World Cup goal.

Jamaica wrapped up its World Cup debut in fourth place in Group C. After being substituted in the 58th minute, Matthews finished the tournament with 121 minutes played.

Logarzo finished the group stage with a goal and an assist in 241 minutes of action. With the win, Australia moved into second place in Group C, setting up a round of 16 matchup with Norway on Saturday. The game will kick off at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.
