Boyds, Md. (Feb. 25, 2019) – New Washington Spirit signing Amy Harrison will join the Australian national team for the inaugural Cup of Nations tournament, taking place Feb. 28 – March 6.

The Cup of Nations will serve as an early warm-up event for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer in France. The competition will be hosted on Harrison’s home soil with games in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Harrison has been added to the Matildas’ roster for the tournament to replace another new Spirit player, midfielder Chloe Logarzo, after Logarzo sustained a minor ankle injury during Sydney FC’s Grand Final win in early February. Harrison enters the event looking to add to her seven career international caps with the Australian national team.

The 2019 Cup of Nations will be a six-match tournament featuring the hosts, Australia, Argentina, South Korea, and New Zealand. The tournament will kick off on February 28 as Australia takes on New Zealand.

Three days later, the competition will head to Brisbane when the Matildas take on Korea Republic at Suncorp Stadium in their second match of the tournament. The third and final day of the competition will be held in Melbourne on March 6, when Australia will face Argentina.
