Boyds, MD – April 14, 2018: The North Carolina Courage defeated the Washington Spirit 4-2 during a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

Boyds, MD (April 27, 2018) – The Washington Spirit has released National Team Replacement player Mallory Eubanks, as Estefanía Banini (ARG) and Yanara Aedo (CHI) re-join the club following the conclusion of Copa América Femenina.

Aedo and host nation Chile captured second place overall in the Copa América Femenina, clinching a berth in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and a spot in the Olympic CAF–CONMEBOL play-off.

Banini and Argentina placed third overall in the 10-team tournament, securing a spot in the World Cup CONCACAF–CONMEBOL play-off and the 2019 Pan American Games. Both Spirit players finished tied for seventh among all goal scorers in the tournament, each finding the back of the net three times.

Eubanks, who was announced as a National Team Replacement Player on March 29, appeared in three regular season games for the Spirit, totalling 79 minutes. She made the first start of her professional career on April 14 against the North Carolina Courage.  

The Washington Spirit will host the Chicago Red Stars this Saturday, April 28 at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. [TICKETS]
