Boyds, MD (April 11, 2018) – Washington Spirit NWSL head coach / Spirit Academy director Jim Gabarra and his wife Carin Gabarra, the head women’s soccer coach at the U.S. Naval Academy – watched their daughter Talia compete with her Spirit Academy – Baltimore Armour team over the weekend at the U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy Spring Showcase in North Carolina.

U.S. Soccer featured the Gabarras in a new video, highlighting one of America’s most accomplished soccer families. Both Jim and Carin are former U.S. National Team players, with Jim earning 14 caps on the men’s side and Carin, a National Soccer Hall of Famer, winning World Cup and Olympic titles with the women’s team. Talia, who recently made her verbal commitment to the University of Central Florida for the class of 2019, has been a key contributor for the Spirit Academy – Baltimore Armour U-18/19 team during the inaugural Girls’ DA season.
