Boyds, MD (February 18, 2018) – Washington Spirit forward Ashley Hatch helped Melbourne City FC capture the Westfield W-League title on Sunday, playing 83 minutes during a 2-0 win in the Grand Final against Sydney FC.

Melbourne claimed its third straight Grand Final victory, repeating once again as champions of Australia’s top division, behind goals from Jessica Fishlock and Jodie Taylor, and a clean sheet effort on the defensive side.

Hatch played 14 games, making 13 starts, over the course of her time on loan with Melbourne City FC. She contributed two goals during the team’s championship season.

Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe helped lead Sydney FC into the Grand Final as well, ultimately finishing as runner-up in the W-League. Bledsoe recorded two clean sheets over the course of nine games during her loan with Sydney FC, making 37 saves on 47 shots faced.

Bledsoe will join the Spirit for preseason camp upon her return from Australia, while Hatch will return to the U.S. for national team duty prior to her arrival in Washington.
