Boyds, MD (December 29, 2017) – Washington Spirit midfielder Tori Huster netted a highlight reel goal on Thursday night in Australian W-League competition, powering home a volley in the fourth minute to open the scoring in a 3-1 win for Newcastle Jets FC over Melbourne Victory.

With the win, Newcastle improved to 5-1-2 on the season, which is good for second place in the league at the conclusion of the 2017 portion of the 2017-2018 campaign.

Huster has been a top contributor while playing on loan with Newcastle, scoring two goals and providing two assists in seven appearances. In addition to her numerous contributions to the Newcastle attack, she has been a key member of the defensive efforts as well, making 25 clearances and nine interceptions.

The Spirit has announced two exhibition games which will be included in the club’s 2018 NWSL preseason schedule. Washington will return to Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Va. for the second straight year on Saturday’s March 10 for a friendly against 22-time women’s college champion University of North Carolina.
