Boyds, MD (October 27, 2017) – Washington Spirit and Nigerian international forward Francisca Ordega has joined Spanish league side Atlético Madrid on loan for the NWSL off-season.
Atlético Madrid is the reigning champion of Spain’s top division, Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino, which kicked off the 2017-2018 season in September.
During the 2017 NWSL season, her third with the Spirit, Ordega scored four goals and recorded three assists over the course of 14 games, logging 921 minutes.
Ordega, 24, will return to the Spirit in March ahead of the 2018 NWSL season.
