Piscataway, NJ – Friday August 4, 2017: Game action during a regular season National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match between Sky Blue FC and the Washington Spirit at Yurcak Field. Sky Blue took the early lead, but gave up four second half goals to drop a 4-1 decision to Washington.

Boyds, MD (August 7, 2017) – Washington Spirit forward Arielle Ship has been nominated for the NWSL Goal of the Week for her long-range strike in the 51st minute of Friday’s 4-1 road win at Sky Blue FC, the first score of her professional career.

Ship also notched two assists in the game, setting up a Cheyna Williams and fellow rookie Meggie Dougherty Howard on Washington’s next two scores in the victory.
