Continue reading for a look at some of the Spirit’s most notable statistics heading into the showdown in South Texas.

7: Saves made by Spirit goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé last time against Houston

Labbé and the Washington back line notched their first clean sheet of the season in their last match-up against the Dash, a 2-0 victory on June 3 at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Labbé, who has made the NWSL Team of the Month for two of the first three months of the season, ranks fourth among the league leaders in saves with 51 entering this weekend.

3: Goals scored by Mallory Pugh in her first three professional starts

The 19-year-old U.S. Women’s National Team rising star recorded her first career brace in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Orlando this past weekend in only her third NWSL start. Pugh became the youngest scorer in the league’s history last time out against the Dash when she found the net in the 69th minute on a feed from Kristie Mewis.

54: Total shots recorded by Washington and Houston in their first two match-ups of 2017

Despite only three total goals being scored in the two games – a 1-0 Houston win on April 29 and a 2-0 win for Washington on June 3 – the Dash and Spirit combined to pile up an average of 27 shots in their first two match-ups.

1: Loss in the last five games for the Spirit

The Spirit enters the weekend having earned at least one point in four of its last five games. Washington’s recent form of W-D-W-L-D is highlighted by clean sheet victories over Houston and Portland Thorns FC. The team’s only loss in the past five was a 1-0 decision on the road against the Boston Breakers on July 1.

55: Defensive clearances made this season by Spirit center back Shelina Zadorksy

Zadorsky added four more clearances to her team-leading total on Saturday, July 8 in a 2-2 draw against the Orlando Pride. The Canadian international has played the maximum 1080 minutes through 12 games.
