Boyds,MD – Saturday, April 29 2017: The Houston Dash beat the Washington Spirit 1-0 in a NWSL match at Maryland SoccerPlex.

BOYDS, MD (May 19, 2017) – The Washington Spirit has waived forward Crystal Thomas.

Thomas was signed by the Spirit on April 27, 2017 and made one National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) appearance against the Houston Dash on April 29. She played 30 minutes in Washington’s 1-0 loss to the Dash at the Maryland SoccerPlex’s Maureen Hendricks Field.

The Elgin, Illinois native was also a member of the Spirit’s first team roster throughout the preseason and training camp.

Thomas, who received a call-up to U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team training camp in January, is coming off a college career in which she netted 31 goals and 17 assists during her time at Notre Dame and Georgetown.

The Spirit return to NWSL action on Saturday, May 20 as the club plays host to FC Kansas City at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. [TICKETS]
