BOYDS, MD (April 21, 2017) – The Washington Spirit is pleased to announce Maryland-based Potomac Soccer Association as an official Youth Club Partner for the 2017 season.

This will be the second straight season that Potomac Soccer has joined the Spirit as a partner club, after kicking off the relationship in March 2016.

The partnership will provide numerous benefits and exclusive opportunities for Potomac Soccer players, including an interactive training session with Spirit professional players and coaches, the chance to attend an open practice with the Spirit first team, preferred access to youth experiences at Spirit home games and discounted season tickets for the club.

“Watching professional soccer up close is one of the best ways for young players to learn about the game, and Potomac gets that,” said Washington Spirit President Chris Hummer. “They are a great supporter and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot of their players at games and special events all season.”

Founded in 1980, Potomac Soccer is a premier soccer club in Maryland and serves approximately 1,000 families. PSA fields both boys and girls teams at all levels of the game from U7/8 to CCL Pro 23.

Laurie Lane, Executive Director of Potomac Soccer added, “We are very fortunate to have the Washington Spirit in our backyard for our families to enjoy. Potomac Soccer realizes that this team embodies everything that we want our players to strive for, excellence in soccer, excellence in tradition and professional women athletes that serve as role models to our developing players.”

Potomac Soccer players have gone on to distinguish themselves at the collegiate and professional level. This has been achieved through the efforts of a dedicated core of parents, coaches, and professional staff who provide programs of training and playing opportunity to develop the individual player to his or her maximum potential.
