Boyds, MD (March 29, 2017) – A trio of Washington Spirit players – goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, forward/defender Lindsay Agnew and defender Shelina Zadorsky – have been named to the Canada Women’s National Team roster for upcoming friendlies against Sweden and Germany.
Canada will face the 2016 Olympic silver medalists on April 6 in Trelleborg, Sweden before traveling to play the Olympic gold medalists on April 9 in Erfurt, Germany.
Labbé, a veteran of the Canada WNT, has recorded 18 clean sheets through her first 40 appearances with the team, including 34 starts between the posts.
Zadorsky has established herself as a reliable member of the Canadian defensive unit as well, starting 25 of 27 matches that she has appeared in with the team. Both Labbé and Zadorsky were members of the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Canadian squad.
Agnew, who was selected by the Spirit with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft out of Ohio State University, has made two career appearances for Canada at the age of 21.
