Nigeria Women’s National Team:

After a draw against Ghana and a win over Kenya this week in the group stage, Nigeria advanced to play in the semifinal of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. In the semifinal against South Africa, Nigeria found the back of the net in the 53rd minute and held on to the lead to advance to its tenth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Final. Francisca Ordega started all three matches for the Super Falcons. In the final on Saturday, the defending champion Nigerians will face host country Cameroon. (Match Report)

Westfield W-League:

Despite many chances, the Western Sydney Wanderers fell to Brisbane Roar 2-0 over the weekend. Katie Stengel had three good looks, two of which were saved by Brisbane’s goalkeeper while the other sailed just over the bar. The Wanderers have a bye this week before regrouping to take on Melbourne Victory on December 11. (Match Report)

Upcoming matches:

  • Cameroon vs Nigeria (Francisca Ordega): Saturday, December 3, 9:30 a.m. ET
