BOYDS, Md. (Sept 8, 2016) – Washington Spirit rookie forward Cali Farquharson will miss the remainder of the 2016 NWSL season after tearing her left ACL during the opening minutes of the Spirit’s match against Seattle on Wednesday, September 7.

“We all feel terrible for Cali,” said general manager and head coach Jim Gabarra. “She has developed considerably in her rookie season. We are confident that she will come back stronger than ever.”

The Spirit drafted the Arizona State product with the 12th overall pick in the 2016 NWSL College Draft. Farquharson has made 16 appearances, 8 starts, for the Spirit in 2016, totaling 561 minutes.
