BOYDS, MD (Nov. 19, 2015) – The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has acquired two second-round picks (Nos. 12 and 20 overall) in the 2016 NWSL College Draft from the Boston Breakers. In exchange, Boston will receive midfielder Angela Salem.

“We all want to thank Angela for her contribution, hard work, and commitment to the Spirit and wish her good luck in Boston,” said Washington Spirit general manager and head coach Jim Gabarra.

Salem, 27, played an integral role in the Spirit’s 2015 season after the club acquired her rights in October 2014. She played in 16 matches and started 13, including the Spirit’s semifinal match in the 2015 NWSL Playoffs. Salem notched one assist and provided a steadying presence in the midfield.
