The Washington Spirit are back in Boston to take on the Breakers on Wednesday evening. The Spirit enter the game riding on a three-game winning streak, having last defeated the Chicago Red Stars 1-0 on June 4. The Spirit have played tremendously over the last month, going 4-0-1 since their 2-1 loss at FC Kansas City on May 11. The Breakers come into the match at 2-8, following a 2-0 defeat to FC Kansas City.

Spirit forward Jodie Taylor continued her excellent season with a 78th minute goal to defeat the Red Stars. Her six goals lead the team and are good for third league-wide.

The Spirit defeated the Breakers 3-2 on June 1st. That game, like the one on Wednesday, was a road game at Harvard. The Spirit were led with two goals from Jodie Taylor and one by Christine Nairn. Diana Matheson and Danesha Adams each contributed two assists.

If the Spirit can replicate that sort of offensive output, they should be able to leave Boston with another victory. This is the third of a four-game road trip for the Spirit.

Look for goalkeeper Chantel Jones to make her first appearance this season as the Spirit will be missing Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger due to USWNT duty.

The Washington Spirit will take on the Boston Breakers on Wednesday, June 11th at 7 pm at Harvard Stadium. The Spirit enter at 6-4-1, tied for 3rd place. The Breakers are 2-8, in last place.
