The Washington Spirit take on Abby Wambach and the WNY Flash on Saturday, May 17th at 6:30 PM ET at the Soccerplex in Boyds, MD. This will be the second time these two teams have met this season, with the first ending in a 3-1 Spirit loss at home.

With a full week of training, the Spirit look to bounce back from a tough 1-0 road loss to Kansas City on Sunday. WNY is coming off a 2-0 win against Sky Blue FC and currently sit in third place.

The Spirit had nearly 3500 tickets on the books for the game as of yesterday and expect a strong turnout. The weather is predicted to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy, perfect conditions for the game.

“We are looking forward to the rematch with WNY,” said head coach Mark Parsons. “The players are getting more familiar with each other every game and we are gaining momentum as a team.” “I think we will continue to get stronger and am looking forward to the remaining 18 games. Go Spirit.”

Spirit fans have consistently turned out to support the team and have created one of the best environments in the National Women’s Soccer League. Saturday’s game will against WNY could be one of the best games of the 2014 season. There are still some great seats available including some field-level sideline seats.
