The Spirit Ambassadors program is hosting it’s second live chat since the launch with Chantel Jones on Thursday, December 19 at 8pm EST. The live chat is free to all. In order to participate or watch, fans must register with the Spirit Ambassador program at www.SpiritAmbassadors.com.
During the 2013 NWSL season Chantel Jones became an important character in the team with her energy and passion for the game. Chantel made 5 appearances for the club including a great performance at Portland in front of 12,000 fans and a shutout in Spirit’s 1-0 win over Chicago towards the end of the season. Chantel is now on loan at Perth Glory in the Australian W League and has been a key player for them in the first 5 games of the season.
Chantel had a standout college career playing goalkeeper at the University of Virginia. Jones represented the United States at the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and participated in the 2007 Pan American Games. She also played professionally Þór Akureyri (Thór) in Akureyri, Iceland before signing with the Spirit.
