(June 5, 2013) – The Washington Spirit announced that defender Ali Krieger has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster ahead of two matches against Korea Republic on June 15 (7 p.m. ET, ESPN3) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., and June 20 (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network) at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

U.S. head coach Tom Sermanni has named 23 players to the U.S. camp, with 18 players available for each match.

Krieger, who will report to U.S. camp on June 10, recently earned her 34th cap with the U.S. Women’s National Team in a 3-0 victory over Canada in Toronto on June 2. She has started in seven of nine U.S. matches in 2013 after missing nearly all of 2012 with a knee injury. She scored her first career goal in a 5-0 win over China on March 8.

Krieger has started all eight games this season for the Spirit (1-4-3), scoring one goal in the first ever victory for the franchise, a 4-2 victory at Seattle on May 16.
