The Washington Spirit announced today that group ticket sales are available for their 2013 National Women’s Soccer League home season at the Maryland SoccerPlex Stadium.

Previously, the club had exclusively sold season tickets, with a strong swell of support that increased once the full NWSL schedule was released last month. The first three Spirit home games are expected to feature U.S. national team stars Abby Wambach (vs. Western NY Flash on April 20) and Alex Morgan (vs. Portland Thorns FC on May 4), as well as a visit from rival Sky Blue FC on April 27.

Fans wanting to attend those or any other matches at the 4,500-capacity Maryland SoccerPlex Stadium can now purchase individual-game tickets, which will be sold in groups of 10 or more. Seating will be in sections outside the “VIP Midfield Reserved” areas that are set aside for season-ticket holders.

“We are thrilled to be the first franchise in history that gets the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year for its first ever home game,” Spirit GM Chris Hummer said of the Wambach’s scheduled appearance. “Then we’ll face our closest rival in Sky Blue FC a week later, followed by Alex Morgan. We couldn’t ask for a better way to reintroduce professional women’s soccer to the D.C. region.”
