Boyds, MD (December 19, 2017) – Washington Spirit – Baltimore Armour forward Jordan Canniff finished off the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team’s 2017 schedule this month, participating in a training camp and a pair of friendlies against Haiti at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
In the first friendly on Wednesday, December 13, Canniff played 75 minutes in a starting role as the U.S. U-17s cruised to a 5-0 victory over Haiti. Canniff, who led the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team’s leading scorer in 2017, helped facilitate the USA attack which saw five different players find the net during the blowout victory.
In the second game on Friday, December 15, the USA earned a 1-0 shutout to complete the sweep against Haiti, as Canniff and several other players from Wednesday’s starting lineup received a well-earned rest.
Throughout the U-17 Women’s National Team’s 2017 cycle, Canniff led the high-powered attack with six international goals. In July, she scored three goals over the course of three games at the CFA International Tournament in China. She went on to provide a goal and an assist over the course of two friendlies against Mexico in November.
In addition to her attacking presence for the U-17s, Canniff has also played up with the U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team. She returned to China in September to play in the older age group at the CFA International Tournament, appearing in all three games and scoring one goal as the USA swept Japan, China and Iran.
