Boyds, MD (August 16, 2017) – Sports Illustrated has released a new video in its Rising Stars series featuring Washington Spirit and U.S. Women’s National team forward Mallory Pugh.

Along with a conversation with Pugh, the video includes interviews with Spirit head coach and general manager Jim Gabarra, and forward Cheyna Williams about Pugh’s transition to the professional level, and her unique talents at the age of 19.

“She dynamic, explosive and has that unique blend of athleticism and speed,” Gabarra told Sports Illustrated. “I don’t really want to put limits on her and predict her future. I think she can do anything she chooses to do.”

“You never know what you’re going to get, at any moment she can be a threat,” Williams said of her teammate. “I think she’ll just keep getting better.”

The SI Rising Stars series showcases some of the world’s top young athletes across professional sports. Pugh is featured as the subject of Season 4, Episode 19 of the series. Other SI Rising stars from Season 4 include players such as Mike Daniels (NFL), DeAndre Hopkins (NFL), Wil Myers (MLB), Kellyn Acosa (MLS), Tyler Adams (MLS) and Pugh’s U.S. international teammate Rose Lavelle of the NWSL’s Boston Breakers.
