BOYDS, Md (Jan 31, 2017) – The Canada Soccer Association announced Washington Spirit players Shelina Zadorsky, Stephanie Labbé, and 2017 draftee Lindsay Agnew as part of the 26 player roster for the Bronze Medal Celebration Match on February 4 at BC Place in Vancouver and a closed-door match on February 7.

Labbé and Zadorsky were integral members of the 2016 Olympic bronze medal winning team for Canada. Both started all but one match on the team’s run to its second consecutive Olympic bronze medal.

For the Spirit, Labbé started eight games in 2016 and recorded five clean sheets, a club record for a single season. Zadorsky played 11 regular season matches, starting 10, plus both postseason matches and was voted Washington Spirit Newcomer of the Year for 2016. She recorded an assist on the Spirit’s opening goal in the semifinal to help the team qualify for its first ever NWSL Championship.

Agnew was drafted to the Spirit with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. In January, she was called into her first senior Canadian National Team camp. She will be looking to earn her first cap with the senior national team.

The Bronze Medal Celebration Match against Mexico will be the first match the Canadians will play on home soil since their bronze medal win at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and features both veteran members of the Olympic team plus some younger players getting their first national team experience. There are already 20,000 tickets sold.
