Washington Spirit vs Orlando Pride
2018 NWSL Regular Season Home Opener

Boyds, MD – The Washington Spirit will play host to the Orlando Pride on Saturday, March 31 in the club’s 2018 NWSL regular season home opener at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be featured on national TV as the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime. [TICKETS]
It will mark the second season in a row that Washington has hosted Orlando in an NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime at the Maryland SoccerPlex. The teams played to a 2-2 draw in front of a sellout crowd of 5,200 fans on July 8, 2017.
The Week 2 match-up with Orlando at the SoccerPlex will provide the Spirit with a challenge against the 2017 NWSL semi-finalists in their home opener.
“Orlando will present a challenging and entertaining opponent for our home opener,” said Spirit Head Coach and General Manager Jim Gabarra. “We look forward to once again playing in front of the Spirit Squadron and all our fans at the Plex.”
Washington will open the regular season on the road against Seattle Reign FC on Saturday, March 24. Kickoff for the game at Memorial Stadium is set for 10 p.m. ET, with a live broadcast available on g90 in the U.S. and for international fans on the NWSL app and NWSLsoccer.com.
The Spirit has announced two exhibition games which will be open to the public during the 2018 NWSL preseason. Washington will return to Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Va. for the second straight year on Saturday’s March 10 for a friendly against 22-time women’s college champion University of North Carolina.
