Boyds, MD (June 1, 2018) – The Washington Spirit has signed Schuyler DeBree as a National Team Replacement Player ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Chicago Red Stars.

Debree replaces Nigerian international forward Francisca Ordega while she competes for her country in a pair of play-in games for Africa’s World Cup Qualifiers against Gambia.

DeBree, a defender from Fair Haven, New Jersey, was the first pick of the second round in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by the Spirit. She earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors her senior season, leading the Blue Devils’ back line along with fellow Spirit teammate and 2018 draft pick Rebecca Quinn.

Debree has earned U.S. Youth National Team call-ups at various levels throughout her career, including with the U-14, U-15, U-18, U-19 and U-20 squads.
