Boyds, MD (June 13, 2017) – The Washington Spirit has signed a partnership with Wings Across America LLC, a Franchisee of 14 Buffalo Wild Wings locations in Maryland for the National Women’s Soccer League 2017 season.

At all home games the pre-game Spirit Tunnel will be presented by Buffalo Wild Wings. During the Spirit Tunnel youth players greet the players as they enter the field and wish them luck with ‘high-fives’. All youth soccer players participating in the Spirit Tunnel will receive a free kids meal that they can redeem at Buffalo Wild Wings locations in Maryland.

The halftime mini-games will also be presented by Buffalo Wild Wings at all home games. During halftime youth players have the opportunity to play a small-sided scrimmage on the field in front of our home crowd.

“We are excited about the opportunity to welcome Buffalo Wild Wings to our gameday youth experiences, and thankful for the opportunity to reach so many of their in-store patrons,” said Spirit President Chris Hummer. “Buffalo Wild Wings offers a great atmosphere for Spirit fans throughout the community, and we thank them for helping support women’s professional soccer.”

Buffalo Wild Wings started in Columbus, OH in 1982 and now has stores in every state in the U.S. The restaurant is a favorite for local soccer fans and the community to gather, with locations throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

“We are thrilled to partner with women’s pro soccer at this exciting time for the sport,” said Buffalo Wild Wings Director of Operations Scott Schwartz. “We are fortunate to have the Washington Spirit in our community, and we look forward to supporting the team and engaging with their great fans this year and in the years to come.”

The Washington Spirit returns to National Women’s Soccer League competition on Saturday, June 17 for the NWSL on Lifetime Game of the Week on the road against the Chicago Red Stars.
