Stephanie Labbé, Shelina Zadorsky, Lindsay Agnew help Canada to 3-1 win over Costa Rica

BOYDS, MD (June 9, 2017) – Washington Spirit players Stephanie Labbé, Shelina Zadorsky and Lindsay Agnew each earned a cap in the Canada Women’s National Team’s 3-1 win over Costa Rica in their friendly on Thursday. Labbé and Zadorsky played the full 90 minutes, which marked their 43rd and 30th international caps, and Agnew played 79 minutes, which marked her 4th international cap.

Canada started the game off strong with a goal in the 3rd minute from Jessie Flemming after a ball played through by Christine Sinclair. They had many chances throughout the first half, and capitalized at the start of the second half when Sinclair scored a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. Shortly after, Canada conceded a goal in the 56th minute, which kept it at 2-1 for the majority of the second half. In the last minutes of the game, Canada secured a 3-1 win with a goal from Adriana Leon in the 91st minute.

The two teams face off again on Sunday, June 11 in Toronto at 2:00 p.m. ET.
