Boyds, Md. – Washington Spirit midfielder Rose Lavelle has been nominated for CONCACAF Female Player of the Year award, as well as being nominated for the Female Best XI as a midfielder. Spirit defender Rebecca Quinn is also nominated for the CONCACAF Female Best XI as a defender.

Lavelle and Quinn both contributed heavily during their campaigns in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship, with Lavelle scoring the title-winning goal for the U.S., and Quinn scoring twice for Canada while being part of a back-line that only allowed three goals during the contest.

Voting for the awards is running through January 6th. Voting is calculated by an even 25% split between the Fans, Media, and Member Associations’ National Team Head Coaches. Final votes in each of the Categories will be tallied and the overall winners shall be announced via Concacaf’s official website.
