(Boyds, Md. – June 12, 2013) – The National Women’s Soccer League official website put out a story on Wednesday morning featuring Washington Spirit midfielder Diana Matheson.

Matheson, who was recently called up for the Canada Women’s National Team’s international friendly against Germany scheduled for June 19, has 72 caps at the senior level for Canada. The Ontario native has started and played every minute of all eight Spirit matches so far this season, and  a team-high 10 points. Her four goals are tied for fifth best in NWSL action, and her two assists are good for the team lead.

In her interview with NWSL, Matheson discusses the 2012 London Olympics and her life since then, as well as her favorite women’s soccer players over the years, her music tastes, and her unique living situation at a retirement home in Rockville, Md.
